Steve DeOssie '84 (Football) Boston College; Tri-captain of 1983 Liberty Bowl team (9-2 season record)... 2nd Team All-America... two-time All-East... played in '84 Hula Bowl... led team in tackles with 135 in 1982 and 111 in 1983... as a sophomore, he was BC's co-leader with 122 tackles - including 21 vs. West Virginia and 19 vs. Penn State... became a starter as a true freshman and was in the starting lineup for all four of his varsity seasons... also was the team's long-snapper... BC was 29-16-1 in his varsity career, and went to two Bowls (1982 Tangerine and 1983 Liberty)... 4th round draft selection by Dallas Cowboys in 1984... played five seasons with Cowboys, five more with New York Giants (including '91 Super Bowl champions) and three with New England Patriots... Steve, who is originally from Boston's Roslindale neighborhood, still lives in the Hub.
Steve is presently a sports analyst with CBS and ia a regular contributor on WEEI 850 AM sports radio..
